We support the mandate of Rights & Democracy. We call on Parliament to exercise its powers and insist that the government cease its interference in the orientation and operations of arm's-length agencies like Rights & Democracy. We reaffirm the importance of civil society organizations in defending human rights in Canada and beyond our borders. We are proud of the important work done by these organizations in promoting and defending human rights internationally, and we want Canada to continue to defend and promote a broad vision of human rights here and around the world.
